When I finally get a hold of Savannah Peterson, she is on a bus from Galway to Dublin, home of The Guinness Factory. It has been a busy time for the entrepreneur, who is coming off a two-year PR cycle from Hell.

The trip was part of a ‘3D printing road trip’ across England, Northern Ireland and Scotland to discover what its communities of engineers had to offer. So technically it qualifies as work. But following her keynote at SXSW, wherein she revealed she had run an extremely successful crowdfunding scam, sampling Guinness straight from the brewery must feel like sweet reward.

“It is far more fun than the flack I take for Instacube,” she writes to me on Skype. (We’re instant messaging so as not to ping the other bus patrons with talk of sexism and 3D printing.)
